The Garden of Sinners Chapter 6: Oblivion Recording
Synopsis
With strange events occurring at Reien Girls' Academy during winter break, Azaka Kokutou, a student and apprentice mage, is sent by her master to investigate. It turns out that another mage has been stealing the students' memories using fairies that, despite her magical talent, are invisible to Azaka. So Shiki Ryougi, an acquaintance with special eyes who can see what Azaka cannot, is also sent to the academy to help with the crisis. However, the two have trouble getting along, mainly due to the fact that Azaka views Shiki as her romantic rival. But when the fairy situation quickly spirals out of control and more layers of the mystery are revealed, Azaka must learn to work with Shiki in order to save her classmates. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
Audience Consensus
Audience reception is mixed, with many feeling it's the weakest entry in the Kara no Kyoukai series. While the visuals and sound are praised, the story and character development, particularly Azaka's character and the incestuous undertones, are heavily criticized. Many viewers consider it a non-essential filler episode, though some appreciate the lighter tone and interesting investigation.
Strengths

- Well-suited and varied music, enhancing the emotional impact of scenes.
- Interesting investigation plot with added complexity as the story progresses.
Weaknesses
- Weak and simple story compared to previous installments, with underdeveloped characters.
- Azaka's character is unlikeable due to her 'brother complex' and selfish personality.
- Unnecessary incestuous sub-plot that doesn't contribute to the story.
- Inconsistent tone compared to the rest of the series; feels like a 'filler' episode.
