Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE The Movie: The Princess in the Birdcage Kingdom
Synopsis — from MyAnimeList
Continuing their journey across numerous universes to collect Princess Sakura's lost feathers and restore her memories, Syaoran and his traveling companions arrive at the Country of Birdcages. As they traverse the strange country with lands contained within a giant birdcage, they happen upon a conspiracy by the current king to use the powers of the princess and her companion bird to take full control of the country. While aiding the princess, currently in hiding, to resist the king, they see signs that one of Sakura's feathers has made its way to this land.
Audience Consensus
Audience reception to Tsubasa Chronicle: Torikago no Kuni no Himegimi is highly polarized, largely due to its perceived lack of narrative substance and rushed pacing, which many feel betrays its potential as a movie. While the production quality, particularly the animation and art, is widely praised as a significant improvement over the TV series, this visual excellence is often overshadowed by criticisms of a weak story and underdeveloped characters.

- Fluid character and object movements.
- Pleasing character designs, closely adhering to CLAMP's signature style.
- Visually appealing and more sharp than the TV series.

- Rushed and choppy storytelling with huge informational gaps.
- Lacks depth and feels like a filler episode or extended OVA rather than a movie.
- New characters are uninteresting and underdeveloped.
- Villain is cliché, boring, forgettable, and their motivations are unclear.
- Doesn't add anything significant to the overarching Tsubasa Chronicle narrative.
- Some music tracks felt ill-timed or were uninspired recycled OSTs.
- English dubbing has weak performances.
- Short runtime (around 30-35 minutes) prevents proper development.
