Synopsis — from MyAnimeList

Years after their all-out war with villains and graduation from UA Academy, the former Class 1-A students have each found their calling within society. With the increased Quirk education all around Japan, Ochako Uraraka plays a pivotal part in ensuring the new generation of Quirk users grows up properly. Despite being satisfied with the status quo, Ochako is reminded by the shadow of Himiko Toga of something important she has forgotten in the midst of her work. Meanwhile, Izuku Midoriya is the happiest he has ever been as a teacher at UA Academy. However, as Midoriya and Ochako take part in a gathering with their former classmates, they both realize what the missing piece in their lives has been.

Audience Consensus

Audiences are divided on whether "My Hero Academia: More" successfully concludes the series. While many fans appreciate the nostalgic callbacks and the resolution of romantic subplots, a significant portion feels the episode is rushed and underdeveloped, failing to provide the narrative depth expected from a finale. The animation and character designs are generally praised, but the writing and pacing are points of contention.

Strengths

  • Excellent animation and visual direction, maintaining the series' recognizable aesthetic.
  • Praised character designs for adult versions of characters, with some notable visual evolutions.
  • Satisfying for long-time fans who wanted closure on romantic subplots, particularly Deku and Uraraka.
  • Provides a sense of completion and nostalgia for dedicated fans who grew up with the series.

Weaknesses

  • Felt rushed and underdeveloped, failing to provide a truly satisfying or fleshed-out conclusion.
  • Did not offer significant new narrative context or expand much on the world post-villain defeat.
  • The Deku/Uraraka romantic resolution was considered anticlimactic and predictable by many.
  • Lack of focus on Deku's legacy or societal impact after his heroic deeds was disappointing.
