Synopsis — from MyAnimeList
An abnormal phenomenon has been observed in Kaga, where Akina and his friends live. A town shrouded in thick fog, a great tower standing sentinel… This is the Fantasma. ——On the night when the crimson moon rises, they shall become "Fantôme."
Audience Consensus
Audience feels the season has interesting ideas but is underdeveloped. The female character Kurumi is a highlight, while Akina's characterization is inconsistent. The season feels incomplete due to a planned movie conclusion, leading to frustration with underdeveloped plot threads and characters.
Strengths
- Exploration of loss and gain, reality and fake is casually cerebral
- Strong female character in Kurumi Ishikawa
- Writing is comparatively strong compared to previous seasons
Weaknesses
- Underdeveloped characters become fodder for the plot
- Plot threads feel incomplete; Akina's parents' reunion is unexplored
- Protagonist side characters are underdeveloped
- Plot is undercooked due to movie conclusion
- Inconsistent characterization of Akina
