Audience Consensus
The second season is seen as a solid and enjoyable sequel that effectively expands on the first season's premise and characters. While some plot elements and character development could have been stronger, the overall experience is positive, making it an easy recommendation for fans of the original.
Strengths
- Builds upon the established story and characters effectively, expanding the narrative.
- Maintains consistent animation quality, with well-animated battle scenes.
- New characters bring unique charm and some welcome unpredictability.
- Explores intriguing themes about the past and future of magical girls and their research.
Weaknesses
- New villains appearing mid-series can feel sudden and unearned.
- The main antagonist is portrayed as somewhat foolish.
- Limited character development for many characters, with focus placed more on the story.
- Music is standard and not particularly memorable, except for the catchy OP.
