Synopsis — from MyAnimeList

"You useless son of mine! You were supposed to pull master swordsman, but I never thought it would be this tragic!" The day a child turns fifteen, they undergo the Ritual of Divine Blessing. Already descended from a line of master swordsman, Elymas was supposed to succeed his father. However, he pulls the defective class, the Heavy Knight, and not only loses his status as future head of the household, but he's also exiled. With their unbalanced stats and seemingly useless skills, Heavy Knights are spoked of as a class for cowards and the lazy. However, Elymas knows the truth. The world he lives in is the same as the one of the game he used to play... It is the Heavy Knight that is the most powerful class of them all. Using memories from his past life, Elymas has set out to effectively conquer this entire world.

Audience Consensus

Audience opinion is heavily divided, largely due to the show's unconventional and polarizing visual style and pacing. While some viewers appreciate the unique animation and premise, a significant portion finds the excessive recaps and disorienting camera work to be unbearable and a waste of time.

Strengths

  • Unique and ambitious visual identity/animation style, described as "overcooked" but also "captivating" and having "its own charm."
  • Interesting premise of an overpowered class that is looked down upon in the game world but is actually powerful.
  • Some viewers found the over-the-top animation and dramatic character portrayals to be humorous and enjoyable.

Weaknesses

  • Extremely poor pacing, with excessive recaps, flashbacks, and repeated scenes consuming a significant portion of each episode's runtime.
  • Unnecessary and disorienting camera work that causes motion sickness and detracts from the action and visuals.
  • Lack of substantial plot progression, with episodes feeling short due to the aforementioned pacing issues.
