Synopsis

Naoya Mukai's crazy lifestyle of balancing his time between both of his girlfriends, Saki Saki and Nagisa Minase, is still as hectic as ever. Additionally, the blonde bombshell Rika Hoshizaki also has her sights on Naoya, complicating his already convoluted love life. As if things could not get more ridiculous, another girl inserts herself into the situation: Shino Kiryuu, who is determined to end Naoya's two-timing and ensure Saki's happiness. However, Shino harbors secret feelings for Naoya—a longing she believes she must forsake—yet simply cannot due to the deep attraction he inspires. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Audience Consensus

Audience reception to Kanojo mo Kanojo Season 2 is mixed. While some appreciate the show's commitment to its chaotic, comedic nature and highlight Shino's arc as a positive, others find the increased drama and cringe-worthy moments to be a significant downgrade. The change in animation studio also raises concerns about production quality, leading to a somewhat polarized viewing experience.

Strengths

  • Shino's character arc is a highlight and well-received.
  • The second season maintains the nonsensical, gag-filled identity of the first, providing entertainment for those who enjoy it.

Weaknesses

  • Some viewers found the anime cringeworthy, with poorly written character interactions.
