Audience Consensus
The audience generally regards Taiyou no Yuusha Fighbird as an excellent entry in the Brave series, praised for its creative transformations, strong character development across a wide cast, and impactful music. While it doesn't quite reach the heights of its predecessor due to an unresolved narrative element, it's still seen as a high-quality show.
Strengths
- Creative and unexpected transformation sequences ('man burning his skin off revealing a metal man')
- Strong character development beyond just the main robot and boy, including family, a curious cop, and a nurse interested in the protagonist
- Well-developed villains with a human/alien combination
- Memorable and grand opening and ending themes, with an exceptional OST orchestration for the finisher
Weaknesses
- Does not surpass previous series (Exkaiser) due to an unfulfilled narrative tease
