Synopsis — from MyAnimeList

Heavens Library to Crimson Lord brings back Arata, Lilith, and the rest of the Trinity Seven to face off against the greatest enemy in the history of the Trinity Seven; Lilith's own father, who is revealed to be the strongest Demon Lord, challenges Arata who is now a Demon Lord candidate.

Audience Consensus

Fans generally enjoyed the movie for its action, character development (especially for Lilith and Akio), and signature ecchi elements. However, a significant portion of the audience found the pacing to be rushed and the antagonist underdeveloped, leading to a somewhat confusing narrative. While it's seen as a competent sequel for existing fans, it doesn't overcome all of the series' established flaws.

Strengths

  • Satisfying character development for Lilith and Akio.
  • Engaging action sequences and fight choreography.
  • Consistent visual quality and animation throughout most of the film.
  • Effective use of ecchi elements integrated naturally into humor and character.
  • Strong voice acting from the main cast.
  • Enjoyable soundtrack with new and returning tracks.

Weaknesses

  • Pacing issues, particularly a rushed first half and abrupt plot developments.
  • The antagonist lacks significant backstory and impact.
  • Inconsistent introduction to plot elements and character powers, leading to confusion.
  • Underutilization of the wider harem cast in favor of main plot characters.
  • The plot can feel episodic and disconnected from the main series.
  • Clichéd "friendship is my power" trope leading to a lackluster climax.
