Audience Consensus
The audience is divided on this OVA, with strong opinions leaning towards either its dedicated fanservice or its poor narrative quality and animation. While some appreciate the light-hearted comedy and detailed character art in ecchi scenes, others find the plot weak, the animation lacking, and the overall experience crass and uninspired. It's largely seen as a shallow supplement for existing fans rather than an effective introduction.
Strengths
- Art for the girls is nice, cute, and detailed, especially in ecchi shots.
- Good adaptation of the fun and wackiness from the manga.
- Characters' personalities, gimmicks, and interactions are explored well within the humor style.
- Offers light-hearted add-on content that explores the ensemble cast's day-to-day comedy.
Weaknesses
- Less smooth animation in far shots or scenes with the main male character.
- Story is considered pathetic and focuses solely on fanservice.
- Plot is barebone and animation quality is poor in medium-distance and close-up shots, making it a turn-off for new viewers.
- Loses the mystique of the manga, feeling crass and potentially gross for uninitiated viewers.
- Hapless, predictable, and woefully hollow, failing as an introduction to the full-length anime.
