Synopsis

Emi is a seventeen-year-old girl living in Shibuya. Her father is always away with work and she's grown listless. Suddenly, a twist of fate involving a certain magical item changes everything. A mysterious pencil, of all things, is linked to the appearance of heroes from another world! Could this be the start to the excitement she's so desperately craving, or is there something more? Audience Consensus

Audience reception is mixed. While some appreciate the animation and plot, many find the dialogue and character development lacking. Emi's character arc is a highlight for some, but overall the show fails to fully utilize its crossover potential and suffers from poor writing. The show doesn't do a good job representing or explaining those characters to a new audience.

Strengths

  • Fluid and amazing 3D animation, especially for mechanical objects.
  • Interesting plot with mystery elements.
  • Emi's character arc is likeable and understandable.

Weaknesses

  • Poor dialogue, possibly due to translation or intentional corniness.
  • Uneven character development, with focus primarily on Ken and Emi.
  • Villains are cliche and uninteresting.
  • Fights sequences are largely forgettable.
