Audience Consensus

Overall, the audience generally enjoyed the second season of Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love! Love!, praising its humor, music, and improved storyline compared to the first season. However, some viewers found the plot and fight scenes to be lacking, and others felt that the focus on certain characters detracted from the experience. The show's thematic exploration of idol culture and parody of magical girl tropes resonated well, although the pacing and handling of multiple themes were criticized.

Strengths

  • Catchy music and enjoyable songs, especially the VEPPer's theme.
  • Bright and pleasing art style with easily distinguishable characters.
  • Improved storyline with more complex plots and flashbacks compared to season 1.
  • Effective parody of magical girl tropes and innuendo-filled humor.

Weaknesses

  • Repetitive elements can become tiring.
  • Plot can be half-assed, especially fight scenes.
  • Over-reliance on Yumoto's character, making him less likable.
  • Pacing issues due to attempts to address too many themes, leading to a less impactful finale.
