Synopsis

The dispassionate, transforming assassin Golden Darkness returns to peer deeper into the mysteries surrounding her new life, while a sinister Nemesis manipulates her younger sister Mea from the shadows. Along with their newly discovered mother, Tearju, this previously estranged family quickly becomes the center of everyone's attention. On the other hand, Princess Momo's Harem Plan stands on shaky ground amidst Rito's inability to confess to his longtime crush Haruna, who has grown feelings of her own. But things aren't as peaceful as they seem; an evil force looms amidst the innocuous commotion, threatening to eclipse the love, happiness, and friendship of Rito and his harem. Only the light of love can hope to banish the shadow. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Audience Consensus

Audience sentiment is mixed, with many appreciating the improved animation, character development, and plot progression compared to previous seasons. However, some find the excessive and repetitive ecchi elements tiresome, and are disappointed by the sidelining of original heroines. While some appreciate the shift in focus to the 'Darkness' characters, others feel it detracts from the original love triangle.

Strengths

  • Improved animation and art style compared to earlier seasons.
  • Character development for side characters like Momo, Nana, Mea, and Yami.
  • Engaging story with a good balance of comedy, ecchi, and plot progression, especially in the later episodes.
  • Enjoyable fan service that enhances the comedy without overshadowing the story.

Weaknesses

  • Repetitive ecchi scenes and Rito's constant accidental groping can become tiresome.
  • Main characters like Lala and Haruna are sidelined, with focus shifting to new harem members.
  • Lack of significant romantic progress between Rito and the main heroines.
  • The plot and character development sometimes take a backseat to fan service, making it feel pointless.
