Synopsis — from MyAnimeList
Taking place after a three-year time skip, the series will follow Shindou Kurono, Kiba Shion, and Anjou Tokoha as the new protagonists of G. Kurono uses the never-before-seen clan Gear Chronicle, which brings together the destinies of these three toward an "impossible future, an impossible self signifying 'Generation.'"
Audience Consensus
The 'G' series of Cardfight!! Vanguard is largely seen as a disappointment by fans of the earlier seasons. Reviewers cite a lack of focus on cardfights, weak character development, and a meandering plot as major issues. While the art and sound design are praised, these elements are not enough to salvage the series in the eyes of many viewers.
Strengths
- High-quality artwork and animation during the card battles.
- Sound design is consistent with previous seasons.
Weaknesses
- Cardfights are often shortened or skipped, diminishing the core appeal.
- Plot is slow, directionless, and fails to achieve a clear goal.
- Character development is rushed and relies heavily on external pep talks rather than on-screen struggles.
- The 'Stride' mechanic is poorly explained and executed.
