Picture drama specials included on the Blu-ray/DVD volumes.
Audience Consensus
Audience opinion is divided, with many finding the specials to be pointless, lazy fanservice that detracts from the original series. However, a smaller segment appreciates them as short, brainless, comedic diversions specifically for existing fans, acknowledging their low-stakes, bonus content nature.
Strengths
- Animation maintains the bright and colourful style of the anime.
- Sound effects and music connect to the dialogue ably.
- Short episode length prevents them from dragging on.
- Maintains the series' over-the-top comedy and character personalities.
- Serves its purpose as bonus content for existing fans.
Weaknesses
- Animation is lazy with mostly still frames and less movement/camera changes.
- Body-shaming jokes, particularly in one episode.
- Storyless silliness and fanservice that can be unenjoyable and pointless.
- Does not contribute to the plot or characters, potentially degrading the overall opinion of the franchise.
- Art is inconsistent, mixing fine art with real photos.
- Characters don't develop, only personality traits are emphasized.
- Extremely forgettable content that doesn't change perspective on characters or setting.
