Audience Consensus
Fans of the Date A Live series generally found the movie to be a satisfying, albeit flawed, addition, particularly for its fan service and character moments. However, critics pointed to a weak and repetitive plot, rushed pacing, and underdeveloped new characters as significant drawbacks. While enjoyable for existing fans, it struggled to provide a compelling narrative for newcomers.

Weaknesses
- The plot is often described as recycled or formulaic, relying too heavily on dates.
- The pacing is criticized, with early dates feeling unnecessary and the latter half feeling rushed.
- The introduction and development of the new character, Mayuri, is poorly handled, with inconsistent appearances and a lack of meaningful impact.
- The climax and plot resolution are considered messy and poorly explained, with unanswered questions.
- Character development for established characters is minimal, as the dates have lost their earlier significance.
