Audience Consensus
Audience sentiment is split regarding the film's value as a recap. While the animation and music are consistently praised, many feel that crucial character development and narrative depth were sacrificed due to excessive scene-cutting and rushed pacing. Existing fans might enjoy it as a refresher, but newcomers are likely to be left with more questions than answers.
Strengths
- Exceptional animation and art quality, consistent with the anime series.
- Compelling and epic music that enhances the viewing experience.
- Provides a good, albeit fast-paced, overview of the story for existing fans.
- Satisfying action sequences that retain the show's excitement.
Weaknesses
- Significant cuts to character development and important backstory scenes, making it difficult for newcomers to follow.
- Pacing is too rushed, leading to a lack of emotional weight and abrupt transitions.
- Feels like a cash grab for fans rather than a standalone piece of cinema.
- The movie relies heavily on recycled clips from the anime, lacking original animation.
