Synopsis

Satoshi, Iris and Dent continue their travels through the Isshu region. After successfully winning his eighth Gym Badge against Homika in Tachiwaki City, Shirona invites everyone to stay at her villa in east Isshu, where old friend Hikari is also staying, and participate in the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup before Satoshi participates in the Isshu League. Team Rocket, meanwhile, initiate their final plan for the Isshu region. What is the purpose of their desire for the legendary Pokémon Meloetta?

Audience Consensus

Audience sentiment is mixed for Pokemon Best Wishes! Season 2. While some appreciate the improved animation and specific arcs like the Meloetta storyline, many are disappointed with the lack of character development, repetitive plot elements, and underwhelming Unova League. There's a sense that the season fails to capture the magic of earlier Pokemon iterations, leading to overall dissatisfaction.

Strengths

  • Art style improvements and animation quality.
  • Some episodes focusing on side characters are interesting.
  • Meloetta arc is well-written and fun (English version ending).

Weaknesses

  • Inconsistent character development and annoying character traits (Iris, Cilan).
  • Team Rocket's storyline lacks meaningful development.
  • Ash's trainer skills remain stagnant.
  • Unova League is poorly executed, especially the Ash vs. Trip battle and the introduction of new, overpowered characters.
  • Lack of originality and creativity in the plot.
