Audience Consensus
Audience reception to this OVA is mixed, with strong fans of the original series likely to find some enjoyment in its random humor and familiar art style. However, many critics feel it's a disappointing collection of disjointed shorts that lack the substance and consistent humor of the main show, often crossing into uncomfortable territory.
Strengths
- Retains the "Panty and Stocking feel" to some extent
- High rewatch value for fans
- Some individual skits are highly entertaining and "stupid fun"
- Appeals to fans of Garterbelt due to specific skits
- Art style is consistently praised as unique and appealing
Weaknesses
- Disappointing as a "full short" due to segmented nature
- Many segments are random to the point of making no sense
- Less entertaining and funny than the main series
- Some jokes cross the line into disturbing or uncomfortable, with "overkill"
- Lacks a real plot or substantial content
- Overall experience can be described as a "stroke" or less entertaining than a lumbar puncture
